Jeff Bowers
managing Director
Jeff is Bowers & Son Limited’s Managing Director and has more than 40 years’ experience in the concrete industry. Initially completing his apprenticeship as a fitter welder at Stewart & Cavalier, Jeff left at the age of 21 to join his father Raymond in the family business. The Company was making troughs and pipes on the Alexandra Street site at that stage, later incorporating mannequin tanks into the business.
Jeff’s technical knowledge and ability has been the driving force for many of the innovations and developments over the years, seeing it grow to the large diverse business it is today. Jeff is involved in all aspects of the Company’s divisions and has a wealth of experience in all things concrete.
Scott Hill
Director
Scott has been a director in Bowers & Son Limited since 2012, after taking over from his parents’ interests, John and Glenice Hill and becoming a fourth generation owner in Bowers & Son Limited. Scott has a background in truck driving having spent many years driving the hiab delivery trucks and concrete trucks for the Company, as well as stints driving larger bulk haulage trucks for other local companies.
Scott is the Company’s ready mixed concrete expert with a wide range of knowledge and experience in the industry. He is also involved in the construction of bunkers and silage pits.
Robyn Bowers
Director
Robyn is a director of the Company, involved primarily in the marketing management as well as various human resource needs. Having been involved with the Company for many years, Robyn has a wealth of knowledge around many aspects of the management operations of the Company.
Lachlan Bowers
Precast Manager
Lachlan is a fourth generation Bowers & Son Limited owner, as son of Jeff and Robyn Bowers. Lachlan is involved in the precast concrete production within the Company, particularly the Duracrete water tanks. Having worked in the business since he left school, Lachlan has over ten years’ experience with concrete and oversees production in the two precast factories.
Rebecca Hill
Health & Safety Manager
Rebecca is the Company’s health and safety manager, liaising with various professionals to ensure the Company’s health and safety is continually monitored and managed. She also assists with various administration tasks in the office with Debbie and Tamara, as well as being involved with aspects of human resources.
Chris Green
Sales & Projects
Chris has been with the Company since 2012 as the sale representative for precast products. He has particular knowledge and experience with precast Duracrete water tanks and has extensive technical knowledge around precast products which means Chris can find the right solution for the job. Travelling around the central North Island to visit customers, Chris is available to inspect sites and develop solutions to meet our customers’ needs.
Shaun Collett
Ready Mix Dispatch (Te Awamutu)
Shaun is our Te Awamutu ready mix dispatch manager, managing concrete orders our of Te Awamutu plant having started with the Company as school leaver manufacturing water tanks. Shaun has extensive knowledge of ready mix concrete, having batched concrete for the Company initially in the early 2000s, before heading to Australia for period to batch concrete in the mines.
In 2011, Shaun returned from Australia to the Company and has been our ready mix dispatch manager ever since.
Russell Brown
Ready Mix Dispatch (Otorohanga) & Branch Manager
Russell joined the Bowers & Son Limited team in 2016 initially based in Te Awamutu, before moving to the Otorohanga yard. As branch manager in Otorohanga, Russell oversees the dispatch of ready mix concrete as well as product making. Russell has a background in dairy farming in the Waikato, and this gives him an excellent knowledge of rural requirements and the local area.
Debbie Freeman
Office Manager
As Office Manager, Debbie is a busy lady who oversees many of the administration tasks of the business. Based in the Te Awamutu office, Debbie is involved with invoicing and accounts payable. Debbie has grown up with the Bowers team, joining the Company as a school leaver in 2002. She is also involved with the scheduling of precast product orders, quoting and directing enquiries, while also having a sound knowledge of products and transportation and a good understanding of our customers’ needs.
Tamara Barrowcliffe
Administration Assistant
Based in our Te Awamutu office, Tamara is involved in the scheduling of precast product orders, quoting and all general enquiries. Starting with the Company in 2013, Tamara has excellent product knowledge and can assist customers with all enquiries.
Aaliyah Ashford
Joining the Bowers office team in February 2020 after finishing her schooling at Te Awamutu College, Aaliyah is the first point of contact for customers in our Te Awamutu office. Aaliyah can assist with all ordering, pricing and general enquiries or point you in the right direction for your requirements. She is a great knowledge of our product range as well finding solutions to our customers requirements.
Harrison Brown
Harrison joined our Otorohanga branch team in 2019 after finishing his schooling in Hamilton. With a willingness to learn new skills, Harrison has progressed from welding and precast roles to now being heavily involved in the ready mix dispatch and delivery. While he is regularly driving ready mix trucks, Harrison is also the assistant batcher in Otorohanga and will step in to the batching role when Russell is away. Harrison has an excellent knowledge of concrete batching and has completed his Certificate of Concrete Production.
